With the intensification of water resource problems, uneven water use in irrigation and difficulties in laying automated irrigation equipment have arisen, resulting in a significant expenditure of manpower and material resources on irrigation. The development of water-saving agriculture is imperative. Currently, in addition to water-saving irrigation technologies such as spray irrigation and micro-irrigation, the use of advanced automatic control technology can implement precise irrigation based on the actual water requirements of crops, improving the utilization efficiency of irrigation water. The use of smart irrigation systems not only effectively utilizes water resources but also improves automated production efficiency, significantly reducing manpower and management, and significantly improving efficiency.
A smart irrigation system, also known as a LORA agricultural irrigation control system or an intelligent irrigation control system, integrates multiple technologies such as the Internet of Things, mobile internet, LORA, and remote sensing monitoring. Through intelligent logical control of valve start and stop, it achieves a balance between water-saving irrigation and crop physiological and soil moisture control. Smart agriculture advocates for a water-saving, fertilizer-saving, labor-saving, and highly efficient automatic control system.
A smart irrigation system is an organic combination of water-saving irrigation technology, crop cultivation technology, and water-saving irrigation project operation and management technology. Smart irrigation systems have strong practicality, accurately grasp the timing and quantity of irrigation, are applicable to a wide range, have powerful functions, and are easy to operate. They can be widely used in fields, greenhouses, farms, and gardens for the cultivation of crops such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal plants. Generally, it consists of a wireless valve controller, an intelligent gateway, and a wireless data acquisition terminal.
Smart Irrigation System Hardware Equipment Composition
1. Wireless Data Acquisition Terminal: This is the equipment responsible for collecting environmental parameters in the irrigation area, such as soil temperature and humidity, humidity, wind speed and direction, liquid level, illuminance, voltage, pressure, and waterlogging, using LORA collectors. It has a built-in battery and operates at low power;
2. Wireless Valve Controller: A remotely controllable valve, available in various types such as butterfly valves, pulse valves, and ball valves, with suitable pipe diameters (DN15-DN250) selected according to the actual application scenario;
3. Intelligent Gateway: Responsible for data transmission from the acquisition terminal to the valve controller, supporting up to 250 nodes, with automatic address configuration, and logical control between nodes;
The wireless data acquisition terminal detects and transmits soil temperature and humidity data to the controller, which then enters the control terminal. The controller processes the signals from the wireless data acquisition terminal (e.g., conversion, filtering, amplification), and then performs a conversion. When the measured humidity is less than the preset value, the wireless valve controller is opened, and irrigation begins. Similarly, when the humidity reaches the set value, the valve controller automatically closes the irrigation. Through the coordination of the smart irrigation system, intelligent irrigation control can be achieved, effectively improving automated production efficiency, reducing manpower and management costs, and significantly improving efficiency.
Smart irrigation systems intelligently control irrigation equipment to provide water as needed, scientifically and effectively controlling soil moisture. This is a very effective way to conserve water resources and improve water use efficiency.
