1. The impact of micro-sprinkler irrigation on the content of photosynthetic pigments in Tieguanyin tea plants
Autumn micro-sprinkler irrigation treatment is beneficial to the growth of Tieguanyin tea plants, which can increase the content of chlorophyll a, total chlorophyll, and carotenoids in tea leaves. The leaves of tea plants treated with micro-sprinkler irrigation are dark green, while the control leaves are yellowish green.
2. The impact of micro-sprinkler irrigation on the photosynthetic characteristics of Tieguanyin tea plants
Micro-sprinkler irrigation treatment can significantly increase the net photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance of tea plants, which are 45.83% and 112.66% higher than the control, respectively; this is mainly because micro-sprinkler irrigation greatly increases the stomatal opening, which is conducive to CO2 entering the stomata, increasing the CO2 concentration in the leaves, increasing the intercellular CO2 concentration, and leading to an increase in leaf photosynthetic efficiency.
3. The impact of micro-sprinkler irrigation on tea yield
Micro-sprinkler irrigation treatment significantly improves the growth environment of Tieguanyin tea plants, is conducive to tea plant growth, promotes the sprouting of axillary buds and the growth of new shoots, increases the number and weight of leaves, and improves tea yield. The fresh weight and dry weight yield of tea treated with micro-sprinkler irrigation increased by 75% and 61.22%, respectively, the number of branches increased by 21.61%, the length of new shoots increased by 4.85 cm, the number of leaves per new shoot increased by 1.5, and the fresh weight per 100 leaves increased by 9.81%.
4. The impact of micro-sprinkler irrigation on tea quality
After Tieguanyin tea plants were treated with micro-sprinkler irrigation, the content of tea polyphenols in fresh leaves increased by 23.11%, the content of caffeine decreased by 9.81%, the content of protein increased by 11.77%, and the content of soluble sugar increased by 17.42%.
Summary
The integrated water and fertilizer spray irrigation technology can, according to the crop's water needs and soil conditions, carry out timely and appropriate scientific irrigation, improve the microclimate in the field, and keep the water, fertilizer, air, and heat in the soil in optimal condition.
Secondly, spray irrigation can wash away dust and pests on the surface of leaves, reduce tea tree diseases and insect pests, and enhance the photosynthesis of tea leaves. In dry seasons, under suitable irrigation conditions, it can increase tea yield and significantly improve tea quality.
