With the development and application of agricultural Internet of Things technology, the progress of water and fertilizer integration has been promoted. Based on agricultural Internet of Things technology, the intelligent irrigation system for farmland water and fertilizer integration can automatically detect, allocate, and supply water and fertilizer according to the water and fertilizer requirements of different crops, soil environment, and nutrient content. While improving irrigation water use efficiency, it also achieves timed and quantitative control of irrigation and fertilization, not only saving water, fertilizer, and electricity, but also reducing labor input and labor costs. This system is widely used in field, dry field, greenhouse, and orchard planting and irrigation operations.
Water and fertilizer integration technology is a new agricultural technology that integrates irrigation and fertilization. Using a pressure system (or natural topographic drop), fertilizers are mixed with irrigation water according to soil nutrient content and the fertilizer requirements and characteristics of different crops, and then supplied through a pipeline system. After the water and fertilizer are mixed, they are sprayed through pipes, spray guns, or sprinklers for irrigation, ensuring uniform, timed, and quantitative spraying in the crop growth area. This keeps the soil in the growth area loose and at a suitable moisture content. The system also designs for the needs of different growth periods based on the fertilizer requirements of different crops, the soil environment, nutrient content, and fertilizer requirements, delivering water and nutrients to the crops in a timed, quantitative, and proportional manner.
A water and fertilizer integrated system typically includes water source engineering, a headworks, a filtration system, an in-field water distribution pipeline network system, and a control software platform. It may also include field meteorological monitoring stations and soil moisture monitoring stations. In actual production, due to differences in water supply conditions and irrigation requirements, an automated water and fertilizer integrated fertilization system may consist of only some of these components.
Rivers, canals, lakes, wells, and reservoirs can all serve as water sources, provided the water quality meets irrigation requirements. To make full use of various water sources for irrigation, it is often necessary to build water diversion, water storage, and water lifting projects, as well as the corresponding power transmission and distribution projects. These are collectively referred to as the water source system.
